Files can be shared by uploading them to the file server built in to the NodeScan server. The server automatically stores information about file such as their sizes, the date they were uploaded, what kind of file they are and who uploaded them.

In addition users can add custom key words to help themselves and others to locate files and password protect them. All files belong to a category such as "Audio", "Image" or "Text". On choosing a file the application will try to determine the category automatically by examining the Macintosh file type or by its extension.

In the near future additional tags will be added to include copyright information, delete after date and more.
